Abdurrashid Khalif is the Founder and Legal Practitioner of Norman Legal Advocates, LLC.
Over the course of 22 years of incarceration, he committed himself to helping fellow inmates with their legal cases, gaining practical expertise in criminal, civil, and commercial law. This experience not only honed his skills as a legal advocate but also deepened his understanding of how systemic barriers impact vulnerable populations.
Because he has personally experienced the pain of being in prison, Abdurrashid brings a profound empathy to his work. He understands that homelessness and vulnerability are rarely matters of personal choice instead, they are the result of many complex reasons and untold stories behind each individual’s life. Far from discouraging him, these insights have empowered him to dedicate his career to fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves.
His guiding philosophy, “For the People, Not for Corporations,” embodies his belief that the law should serve as a tool for equity, justice, and human dignity. Since founding NLA, Mr. Khalif has devoted his career to providing free legal services for homeless individuals and marginalized communities, striving to break cycles of poverty and empower people to create stable, fulfilling lives.

He specialties include greeting visitors, boosting team spirit, and collecting well deserved treats.

Dee Khalif brings over 25 years of experience in management, sales, marketing, and business development. With a background in architecture, interior design, and high-end vintage furnishings, she has built a career centered on client service, creativity, and community engagement. Dee assists her husband, Rashid Khalif in overseeing the firm's business operations, client communications, marketing initiatives, community outreach, and administrative functions. She is dedicated to supporting the firm's mission of making legal advocacy more accessible while helping connect individuals and families with valuable resources and support services. Dee is passionate about serving the community and helping create opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen families.
